Come along to our super friendly get-together - we will refresh you, inspire you, talk to you, show you motivational DVDs and generally give you an extremely uplifting hour! The Spring Ball - Saturday March 31st 2012	Saturday March 31st 2012 at The Speech House in the heart of the forest. 7pm til Midnight - Tickets Ł25 - a Black Tie event with a difference. Our 3rd annual ball and the last 2 have been memorable! The great thing is that ticket prices remain the same for the third year in a row, and each Ł25 ticket generates a whopping Ł7.50 donation to the cause. So, if you are a team member, sell some tickets and make some easy cash for your team total! We can promise everyone a simply fabulous night out, good food, great company, amazing music and a real night to remember. Posh frocks and tuxedos very welcome, and its not just for Relayers.....who do you know who wants/needs a really good night out?! The American Cancer Society International Heart of Relay Awards 2011	We are absolutely over the moon to announce our recognition for the third year running in these most prestigious international awards. After winning the 2009 Mission Delivery Award outright, gaining first Runner-up in Youth Development in 2010, we have now scooped Second Runner-up in Mission Delivery in 2011 - Whoo Hoo! Our hard work in promoting cancer awareness and information at our event and ensuring that it is apparent throughout is really paying off - thanks to our teams fully embracing every challenge we set them! A massive T H A N K Y O U to everyone involved in 2011 for helping us to fight off fierce competition from 22 other countries around the world to gain this great honour! Here's to a magnificent 2012 and more opportunities to help everyone take responsibility for their own well-being and Fight Back and beat cancer! Relay For Life Forest of Dean...YOU ROCK!

Forest Cycle Recycle - Forest Hillbillies	We are members of the Forest Hillbillies team for Relay for Life (previously known as Yorkley Health Centre) and last year tried to find 'different' ways of fundraising. Les bought four bikes on Ebay for Ł3.99, scrapped one of them and did up and did repairs on the others which we sold at a reasonable profit. One of the first buyers was so pleased with what we were doing that she gave us a couple of bikes to sell. It has snowballed from there. We often arrive home after work to find another couple of bikes have been left for us just inside the gate. We've given ourselves the nickname of 'Forest Cycle Recycle' and pride ourselves on the fact that we can sell our bikes at very reasonable prices (usually between Ł5 and Ł40). Read More »
International Heart of Relay Award	Relay For Life Forest of Dean have been awarded one of the 4 much coveted International Heart of Relay Awards given annually by The American Cancer Society. The prestigious award for Mission Delivery (Cancer Awareness& Information) is testimony to the passion, drive and enthusiasm of everyone involved in making our mission to encourage our community to take responsibility for their own well-being, help themselves to a healthier lifestyle, and reduce their risk of cancer. This small community beat off fierce competition from not only 68 events in the UK but 21 other countries around the world who take part in Relay, and scooped first prize with Kingston in Jamaica coming second and Portugal third. We are absolutely over the moon with this achievement and now the very proud owners of a large banner and several framed certificates for display - true testimony to everyone who has been involved with our event.
