 Total
Raised to date - £69,354!! This most amazing
weekend with wall to wall sunshine and a roller
coaster of emotions has raised another
incredible amount of money with funds still
rolling in! You forest folk (and a few non
foresters too!) have, yet again, come up trumps
and should all be incredibly proud of
yourselves. The fancy dress/decorated
tents and healthy lifestyle banners were
magnificent - and the participation in all of
the activities and themed laps truly wonderful.
You make us all feel incredibly honoured to be
part of this fabulous community event, and
working together, we are really helping to make
a difference! A massive THANK YOU to
everyone - Relay For Life Forest of Dean - You

We had the X Factor! - Stacey Solomon sings
live at Relay |
 The
very lovely X-Factor Runner Up, Stacey Solomon
found time in her hectic schedule to come and
sing for us on Sunday morning - how lucky were
we! Stacey sang ' Wonderful World'
beautifully and then spent time signing numerous
autographs and posing for photos. Thank
you Stacey!

International Heart of Relay Award |
 2010
has started off with some amazing news!
Relay For Life Forest of Dean have been awarded
one of the 4 much coveted International Heart
of Relay Awards given annually by The
American Cancer Society. The
prestigious award for Mission Delivery (Cancer
Awareness& Information) is testimony to the
passion, drive and enthusiasm of everyone
involved in making our mission to encourage our
community to take responsibility for their own
well-being, help themselves to a healthier
lifestyle, and reduce their risk of cancer.
This small community beat off fierce competition
from not only 68 events in the UK but 21 other
countries around the world who take part in
Relay, and scooped first prize with Kingston in
Jamaica coming second and Portugal third.
We are absolutely over the moon with this
achievement and now the very proud owners of a
large banner and several framed certificates for
display - true testimony to everyone who has
been involved with our event. Thank you
